The Season of Lent 

 

ASH WEDNESDAY (14th February). There will be a Mass and Ashing at 10.00 at All Saints Church and all are welcome.

 

Please come and start Lent with the Church and to be ashed on your forehead.

Ashes are ceremonially placed on the heads of Christians on Ash Wednesday,  by being marked on their foreheads as a visible cross. The ashes are prepared by burning palm leaves from the previous year's Palm Sunday celebrations.

 

Next SUNDAY (18th February) is the 1st Sunday in Lent and there is a Parish Mass at 10.00 as usual.

 

Lent Book. A booklet (a pdf file) is available by email and we invite you to read two chapters of it each week at home or with a friend. 

 

There will be an introduction to the chapters on the weekly All Saints sheet each Sunday. 

 

After Easter, the author, Fr. David Sherwood will hold two sessions in church for you to ask any questions you may have from your reading, and maybe join in some guided discussion.

If anyone would like to make confession of sin during Lent – please make an appointment with one of the priests.
